Chrissy Teigen Proudly Shows Off Lopsided Boobs from One-Sided Breastfeeding

Friday, December 15th, 2017

Chrissy Teigen is never shy to show her real self on social media—lopsided boobs and all. On Thursday, the 32-year-old model posted a relatable Snapchat proudly displaying her lopsided boobs from months of uneven breastfeeding.

The picture showed an aerial view of the “Lip Sync Battle” co-host’s cleavage, with one breast looking noticeably larger than the other. In her caption, Teigen admitted that the lopsidedness was a result of nursing her 1-year-old daughter, Luna, from one side. Given that she’s pregnant with her second child with her husband, John Legend, the Cravings author also made sure to note that the disproportion was from her past breastfeeding experience, as not to suggest that she already gave birth.

“View from above. I really should have nursed out of both boobs (when I nursed),” Teigen wrote.

Lopsided boobs aren’t unusual for first-time moms. The unevenness, which is already a natural trait for many women, is caused during breastfeeding when the baby prefers one breast over another, resulting in simple supply and demand, according to an expert at Breastfeeding Basics.

The size could be because one breast naturally produces more milk, which causes it to engorge larger than the other. Given that Teigen is in the midst of her second pregnancy, her breasts are changing to prepare for breastfeeding.

Is Rihanna Planning to Release a Blue Lipstick?

Friday, December 8th, 2017

If you thought we were tired of writing about Fenty Beauty, you thought wrong. It might have something to do with how badass Rihanna’s namesake brand truly is. Whether it’s the diverse shade ranges, adorable fan interactions or high quality products, we’ve been hard pressed to find reasons we shouldn’t love all things Fenty.

Now, just two weeks after the the debut of STUNNA Lip Paint, we find ourselves giddy at the prospect of a new product: blue (or black) lipstick. Last night, the Grammy Award winner shared a photo of her holding a tube of dark lipstick. Molded into the top of it was the Fenty Beauty logo, which means another lippie will probably arrive soon.

So far, fans haven’t been able to identify the exact color and whether it matched the shade on her lips. Aside from wondering what the color is, she has everyone hoping for an entire line of lipsticks instead of a single drop. The tubing is different from everything else she’s released, which leads us to think there might be a whole batch in the works.

Listen, I hear you (but not really). Millennial pink is getting old and millennial red, or whatever we’re calling it, is on its way to steal the throne. But will pink really die if we don’t kill it? No. No, it won’t. With that being said, I’ve made it a personal crusade to keep millennial pink on life support. And please don’t pull the plug.

5 Sex Positions That Work for Almost Every Couple (Lesbian, Straight, and Everything in Between)

Thursday, November 30th, 2017

I’m a firm believer in the sexuality spectrum—that is, the idea that sexuality and gender roles aren’t necessarily binary (gay/straight; female/male) but rather, deeply fluid. Who we’re attracted to doesn’t have to fall into a clearly labeled, defined category like “lesbian” or even “bisexual”—it can be messy, gray, and constantly changing, and that’s perfectly fine.

In my many years of editing articles for women’s magazines and websites, I’ve produced plenty of gender- and sex-positive content—from how one incredible trans woman found her own personal style and why kinky sex makes people healthier to super-adventurous sex positions to try. And while we’ve always focused on being as inclusive as possible, it’s more challenging than you’d expect to find sex positions that work for couples of all gender combinations, sexual orientations, and lifestyles.

MORE: How to Discover and Own Your Sexual Identity

That’s why I’m especially excited about this particular sex position guide, which features options geared specifically toward lesbian couples. It’s not just because this particular demographic is underserved in this area (which, from my research and experience, it is), but also because if two women can do these moves, pretty much any other combination of people can pull them off, too. And the more people who get pleasure out of these positions, the better I’ve done my job, as far as I’m concerned.

So go forth, sex-positive, sexually fluid warriors, and enjoy these kinky moves and tips.

The Best Blushes According to Your Skin’s Undertones

Sunday, November 26th, 2017

Blush is tricky. But before you can even contemplate applying it, finding a shade that actually compliments your skin tone is the first step. Unfortunately, the spectrum of blush colors is practically never-ending, making it pretty difficult to find just one on the first try. What most of us tend to forget is that knowing your undertone is the key to avoiding a lot of trial and error. As we’ve discussed before, our skin has two layers: the one we usually describing ourselves as having, and a less visible one underneath the skin’s surface.

MORE: How to Figure Out if You Have Cool or Warm Undertones

The latter- typically categorized as warm, cool or neutral (a combo of the first two) – has a major effect on which makeup colors look most natural on our face.  There are a number of ways to determine which one applies to you, like checking the color of your veins and eyes. But when all else fails or your patience is at an all-time low, go straight to an expert for product picks.

Renny Vasquez, a pro makeup artist with A-list clientele (Gabrielle Union, Serena Williams, Chrissy Teigen), says, “I assess the skin tone and based on the undertones that create a cool, medium or warm skin tone, I knows the hue of blush they need. For example, warm tones have peachy, yellow and golden undertones, so you’ll need blushes that bring out those colors. Cool skin has more pink undertones, so you apply the same philosophy.”

Chrissy Teigen Debuted the Cutest Choppy Bangs After Polling the Internet

Wednesday, November 22nd, 2017

Chrissy Teigen‘s people have spoken and they told her…not to get bangs. After polling her Twitter followers on whether she should make the chop and adopt fringe, 60 percent of voters warned against it. Though, like the rebel we know she is, the 31-year-old model went against the masses and chopped her hair into bangs anyways.

On Tuesday, hours after revealing that she’s pregnant with her second child with her husband, John Legend, Teigen delivered another huge piece of news: She has bangs! In a video showing off her fresh cut, Teigen can be seen tousling her new choppy fringe, which was cut in shaggy layers and fell right above her eyebrows, while gushing about how much she loves the hair change. In the background, Teigen’s hairstylist, Jen Atkin, who has also worked with Kardashian-Jenner clan, among other A-listers, can be heard telling her, “Just got banged.”

“It’s my hair! I love it. You really are talented,” Teigen tells Atkin.

People Told Amber Heard She Was ‘Throwing Away’ Her Career After She Came Out

Tuesday, November 14th, 2017

As expected, Amber Heard‘s experience with coming out in Hollywood went less than smooth. In an interview with Allure, the 31-year-old actress opened up about her sexuality and the homophobia she experienced after she went public with her attraction to women.

In the interview, Heard recalled her “coming out” moment in Hollywood. It was a few years ago when she was photographed holding hands with a woman who she was dating at the time. “I [was] holding her hand, and I realized that I have two options,” Heard said. “I can let go of her hand and, when asked about it, I can say that my private life is my private life. Or I could not let go and own it.”

And though Heard fully accepted how her life and career would change after coming out, her professional team wasn’t convinced that the milestone was a right move for her public image. Considering her history of playing love interests for actors like Nicolas Cage and Johnny Depp, Heard’s management warned that coming out would have long-lasting repercussions for her career.

“Everyone said, ‘You’re throwing it all away. You can’t do this to your career,’” Heard said. “And I said, ‘I cannot do this any other way. Watch me.’ ”

” embed-type=”full-embed” align=”center”]

To this day, Heard doesn’t identify with the term “coming out.” Instead, she believes that labels, such as bisexual, should be nixed. As much as she feels a part of the LGBTQ community, Heard doesn’t connect with words associated with the acronym and believes that people should skip categorizations and simply identify as “human.”

“I didn’t come out. I was never in. It’s limiting, that LGBTQ thing,” Heard said. “It served a function as an umbrella for marginalized people to whom rights were being denied, but it loses its efficacy because of the nuanced nature of humanity. As we become more educated and expand the facts of our nature, we keep adding letters. It was a great shield, but now we’re stuck behind it. It’s so important to resist labels. I don’t care how many letters you add. At some point, it’s going to spell ‘WE ARE HUMAN.’ ”

Heard may star in two anticipated D.C. superhero movies, “Justice League” and “Aquaman,” but it seems like she’s doing most of her hero work IRL. Props to her for keeping it real.

‘Grazia UK’ Apologizes for Photoshopping Lupita Nyong’o’s Natural Hair

Saturday, November 11th, 2017

Last night, Lupita Nyong’o shared her latest magazine cover, but not without expressing her disappointment in the final product. In a lengthy caption under side-by-side photos of the original photos and final cover, the Academy Award winner called out Grazia UK for smoothing out her natural texture in exchange for a look that more closely resembles Eurocentric beauty standards.

“As I have made clear so often in the past with every fiber of my being, I embrace my natural heritage and despite having grown up thinking light skin and straight, silky hair were the standards of beauty, I now know that my dark skin and kinky, coily hair are beautiful too,” she said.

Instagram PhotoSource: Instagram

“Being featured on the cover of a magazine fulfills me as it is an opportunity to show other dark, kinky-haired people, and particularly our children, that they are beautiful just the way they are. I am disappointed that @graziauk invited me to be on their cover and then edited out and smoothed my hair to fit their notion of what beautiful hair looks like.

“Had I been consulted, I would have explained that I cannot support or condone the omission of what is my native heritage with the intention that they appreciate that there is still a very long way to go to combat the unconscious prejudice against black women’s complexion, hair style and texture.”

In an official statement to The Fader, Grazia UK offered an apology, but didn’t take full responsibility for the alterations.

“Grazia is committed to representing diversity throughout its pages and apologizes unreservedly to Lupita Nyong’o. Grazia magazine would like to make it clear that at no point did they make any editorial request to the photographer for Lupita Nyong’o’s hair to be altered on this week’s cover, nor did we alter it ourselves,” they wrote. “But we apologize unreservedly for not upholding the highest of editorial standards in ensuring that that we were aware of all alterations that had been made.”

It’s also worth noting that Nyong’o ended her post, which has since garnered over 200,000 likes, with the hashtag “#dtmh,” a subtle ode to “Don’t Touch My Hair,” the empowering anthem written by Solange Knowles to celebrate black womanhood.

Knowles used the same hashtag last month when another British publication, The Evening Standard, chose to photoshop her braided hairstyle for its eventual cover. They also offered an apology, saying that “the decision to amend the photograph was taken for layout purposes but plainly we made the wrong call.”

This  isn’t the first time celebrity women have called out magazines for altering their physical features, but there’s certainly been an uptick in frequency this year. Just two months ago, Emily Ratajkowski called out Madame Figaro for making her lips look smaller and breasts bigger, and asked that the fashion industry would “stop trying to stifle the things that make us unique.”

It seems magazines rather ask forgiveness than simply do what’s right. Let’s hope those devoted to celebrating diversity and individuality can demonstrate how to do the opposite.
